Creative Art Using Recycled Materials

Tuesday 6th June

Compassion, Reflection and Inspired Action

Working with local residents supporting Eco Urban Life Festival recycling week Donald Waugh Pavement2Catwalk CIC identified a specific day to work with four clients.

The project focus is on the community and its importance more now than ever because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Clients are also encouraged to bring along something that reminds them of a time before the lockdown and life changing restrictions.

Compassion, Reflection and Inspired Action, aim is to extract all the positives that we can find  from being in the lock down and how we can share our time and creativity to help heal the wounds of this pandemic.

Workshop materials, include  plastic bottles, plastic bags and bin liners, empty cans, empty contents from a weekly shop and some new face mask.

Green tip for the day:

A healthy diet and good exercise plan also go a long way!  Natural alternatives are also less expensive in most cases, and work so well, you can will continue making your own products.

Natural Substitutes for Toothpaste

Squeeze or scoop onto toothbrush and brush as normal.

Mix baking soda and peppermint liquid to make a thick paste. This has a slightly salty minty taste and also a natural whitening effect. Some people use pure baking soda, which works great, but is a little salty and bitter with an aftertaste.

Also, you can suck cloves and pieces of cinnamon after eating for constant fresh breath.

Natural Alternatives:  Mascara Remover

Olive oil and/or coconut oil are great at removing mascara and eye makeup, even waterproof.

Deodorants

Baking soda by itself is actually an incredibly effective natural deodorant, though it can be messy if you are wearing dark clothing.  Mixing baking soda with equal part coconut oil is a cleaner option and since coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal, it’s is great at preventing unpleasant body odor.
