The Haringey Health Champion programme empowers diverse communities with vital health information and support. Health Champions receive training on public health guidance and messaging, promoting trusted, accurate, and up-to-date information on health and wellbeing issues. The programme supports positive health outcomes for Haringey’s diverse communities. It gives a voice to individuals and communities with varying levels of access, awareness, and knowledge of healthcare information, services, and referral routes. Role of Health Champions: Health Champions are community members who work with voluntary, community, and charity organisations. They receive training on public health guidance and messaging, promoting trusted, accurate, and up-to-date information on health and wellbeing issues such as:
- Vaccinations • Local cancer screening services • Staying healthy • Losing weight
- Moving more • Stopping smoking
