LB Haringey COVID-19 Update for VAWG/DA Service
Given the current circumstances, I am sure everyone is feeling a bit nervous and uncertain. The VAWG Team at Haringey Council want to reassure you that we are working with our providers to ensure that support remains available for all those who may be experiencing Violence Against Women and Girls. We are aware of how critical these services are for our communities, and how they will be even more crucial now as women and children are likely to be spending more concentrated periods of time at home with perpetrators. All services have activated their Business Continuity Plans and have implemented measures to safeguard staff and the women and girls they support in accordance with government and public health guidelines. While the government is encouraging social distancing, face to face appointments will be limited as much as possible, however, services are being adapted to continue over the phone and online. You can continue to make referrals to all Haringey VAWG and DA providers as normal and they will be picked up and contacted accordingly. It is more important now than ever for us to continue to work as a coordinated community response. All services are trying to adapt to the new guidance and circumstances to try and slow the spread of coronavirus while continuing to provide the fullest support possible. This means that resources will be stretched so please be understanding, patient and kind to one another in these times and let us all remember to do our part as professionals to work together and make this process run as smoothly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are here to support you all so please use us a resource.Do also remember to take care of yourselves and each other.
